2. Something to ponder...

The standard length of most drivers up until the late 80's was 43". Certainly some of the lighter materials (graphite and titanium) allowed
longer drivers to be built with the idea that a longer club would potentially create longer drives (a good selling point for a driver...). In
some cases that may be true, but if a player cannot strike the ball solidly in the center of the face, the distance gain is negligible. If women are,
on average five or six inches shorter than men, why are the standard length drivers only an inch or an inch and a half shorter?
